Evan is 2 months old this week.
He can now.....
1. Wear #1 diapers (for the past few weeks)
2. Smile when he wants too. Usually Austin & Chris can get a good smile every morning from him and also when Chris comes home from work.
3. Tracks you & toys with his eyes if you move it from one side to another
4. Reached out to touch a toy tonight during dinner. He did this several times and for a good 5-10 minutes so it wasn't just an accidental movement.
5. Sleeping 5 hrs one stretch at night. My favorite.
6. Wearing 0-3 month clothes and even some 3 month+ sizes. Depending on the brand. All the infant sizes are now packed away, looking like new for my next garage sale. No more use for baby clothes here. Which is a little sad to think about right now.
7. Has been a really good traveler. He's been on at least 3 trips to Bend and 3 trips Portland with very little crying. It does help that big brother is in the back seat ready and willing to insert the pacifier if the noise level rises above a whimper.

Trip to Bend
The boys & I made a trip to Bend. The main purpose was so I could go to the dentist, but we made a 2 night trip out of it so Evan could meet & visit with the family. He did a great job traveling and slept both ways, which Austin and I really enjoyed. Here are a few highlights of our trip.
Evan spends most of his "tummy time" sleeping.
Evan had a "meet & greet" at Grandma & Grandpa's house. Look at all who came!
Grandma Eileen, Uncle Steven & Isaiah, G&G Cook, Jim & Emily & Grandma Seaver
Enjoying a little dessert
Evan getting a bath in the big tub
You get really clean at Grandma's house!
New supply of KNex from Uncle Cliff and Aunt Karen.
He is staying busy for hours!
We looked at some old photos
fed some birds, bunnies and caught a few lizards too.

Weekly happenings
Monday we took a trip to Ikea with all the kiddos and met Meredith with her kids too. Of course our first stop was breakfast. They have very reasonably priced food and even 2 for the price of 1 on breakfast. We ate for under $3.00
Evan actually fell asleep while Austin was holding him this morning.
Austin takes my camera and I love to see what he captures.

First week of September
We spent our Labor day weekend camping at Suttle Lake with the Franklin family. We extended it to Wednesday, which was great because the campground cleared out Monday and we had it almost completely to ourselves. The dogs loved having the opportunity to run off leash, and with 4 of them all after a ball they were entertaining too. Austin spent most of the weekend fishing, playing in the dirt, and feeding ducks.
Austins water outfit. It was not that warm, but he didn't care
My parents, Grandma Seaver & Grandpa & Grandma Franklin all came for a visit on Monday. Here's Evan with all his Grandma's and great-Grandma's (missing Gma cook)
This little guy is in heaven! All these loving arms ready to hold and cuddle him.
What would camping be without smores
Austin had is first day of 4 year old preschool. To him is was just another day going to school, however it was a 2 1/2 hr day instead of a 9 hr day for him. Since I am not working we decided to still take him to the preschool part of the day so he could see his friends & we wouldn't lose his spot at the school just in case I decide to return to work for a day or two. He is in Ms. Kristy's class and also has several of his friends in the same class too. We will still work on reading & writing at home too.
Evan is 6 weeks old and we just bought him a new car seat. It is a Sunshine Kid brand and is narrow enough to fit in the middle seat of my car; allowing space for Austin on one side and another passenger on the other. I really like Britax brand, but all their seats are too wide to fit 3 people/car seats side by side in my car. This one seems to be comparable in quality, so we'll give it a try. It's 20+ lbs, so once it's in the car it's going to stay there. He still needs to grow out of the infant car seat, so Austin might be the first one to try it out. It's rated forward facing up to 80 lbs. using the 5 point harness.
