Christmas Day

MERRY CHRISTMAS
Dakota opened the first present and was so happy he finally got a new duck. Lets see how long the stuffing lasts in this one??

Austin has his own phone! Yeh, now maybe he won't take ours just hear the lady say "If you'd like to make a call, please hang up and try again" (Dakota looks on and wishes he had a phone of his own too)

After opening gifts at home we headed to Bend (yes once again) to have lunch at Chris's grandparents house. Then back to my parents house to open gifts and finally home again. Both guys are sleeping right now so I have a few quiet hours to myself. I hope everyone else enjoyed Christmas as much as I did. God Bless.

Happy, full family on Christmas Day.

Saturday: We started out our Christmas celebration heading to Bend for a big potluck lunch at Chris's parents house. Andy (middle son) had to work on Christmas day so this was a family get together for him. My parents also enjoyed in the festivities with us; both families have been long time friends way before Chris and I ever got together.

Sunday: Chris and I had my family over for a Christmas Eve lunch. My brother and sister in law were on their way back to Bend from Portland and stopped off here in Madras for a bite to eat. My parents came too and supplied the wonderful dessert and potato salad that I don't even attempt to make.

New friends and Christmas Parties

The last few days have been full of Christmas parties. Last night Austin and I went to the Madras Mom and baby group annual Christmas party. I only knew a few people, but it ended up being a lot of fun. Austin has definitely showed that he is a social butterfly. At the party he opened up right away, mooching food from everyone's plate. I was afraid of what people were giving him because he only has 4 teeth. By the end of the night he had mastered the stairs and had tasted all the good desserts.

Today we had a work party in Warm Springs. Austin was the only kid, so he was the focus of attention. He picked out a really nice gift from the table...it was a badge necklace homemade by our WIC certifier. Now I don't have to use my old OHSU one.

Here' a picture taken today of both the kitty's taking a nap together. Who would have guessed that after 5 days Simon would be okay with this??!!! Chester is here to stay. I would include a picture from tonight of me feeding Austin a bottle, Simon crawled up on me and rested his front feet on Austin. Then Chester crawled up on my legs. I look like I'm hung over...so I won't share that one with everyone.

Chester is his name

It is official, we have a new cat. Well unless someone out there wants him??
So far he is a very loving and good natured little guy. Simon hates him so far, but hopefully will warm up to him.

Chris is not feeling well today, so we are spending a quiet day at home. I finally check our mail box and it was so much fun looking through all the Christmas cards. I love to get mail!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE!!

Pet Rescue

Today my friend Joyce and I did a good deed. We decided to take a quick walk during a break and heard a "meow...meow" coming from a nearby Juniper tree. So the adventurous girls we are, we headed off the road and followed the noise. Here was this little kitty up in the branches, stareing down at us saying "please help me" Joyce raised her arms and the little guy came climbing down.

So here he is. We have temporary custody until Joyce finds out if she can keep him. Boy is Simon MAD!!!!

Internet is up and running

The time has finally arrived. The Franklin family has the internet at home. We decided to have Christmas a few weeks early this year and bought a computer for the "family" gift. I couldn't wait until Christmas to get it all set up. I will try today to post some photos and other things, but only if Austin doesn't wake up first.

So here it goes.........

One photo was added but not where I wanted it to go.....(the one above)

Figured out how to move another one to the right place :) Jessica I might need your help!

This was taken last saturday after the Jingle Bell 5K walk in Bend. I recruited my Mom, cousin and some co-workers to all walk it together. It was a lot of fun, but we started out walking in our own little group because it had started early. We arrived at 11:45 and the mob of other walkers were already 5 minutes ahead of us. We caught up to them eventually.

That will be it for now. I will send this off.
