My grandfather (Grandpa Cook) is experiencing several health issues that as of now we are not sure what the outcome will be. He has one functioning lung (which is not at 100%) and a fractured disk that is causing a lot of pain. Doctors are discussing the option of surgery (to fix his back) but based on his overall health status, the risk might out way the benefit.
Evan had his hip ultrasound today and although the radiologist did not come in and discuss the details with me, he wants to repeat it in another 6 weeks to see if anything has changed. Evan has some degree of hip dysplasia; basically they ar dislocated because he was in the breech position. I'll call the pediatrician on Monday to see if there is something we can do in the next 6 weeks to position his hips and maybe help the healing/developmental process now. On a positive note: Evan has gained a pound :) He's now at 6 lbs 13 ounces so his every 2 hr feedings around the clock must be working.
